The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest (ASNF) is looking for PIT volunteers to team up with HistoriCorps this season to focus on the Pinedale Work Center: a compound of buildings that include a Rangers' House, barn, office, well house, paint house, and masonry blast houses. The buildings were designed by USFS architects and then constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1934. They played a significant role in the management of Forest Service lands, particularly for the logging industry. HistoriCorps generally provides the tools and training needed, so whether you're a pro or have never swung a hammer, this is still the project for you - we hope to see you this summer!
